In the hustle and bustle of the 21st century, the rich history of Prince Georges past is often overlooked! With roots firmly planted in the 17th century, Prince Georges history continues to spread its branches into the 21st century. The County boasts more historic assets than any other in Maryland. Youre invited to discover them!
History Day at Home, brought to you by the Prince Georges County History Consortium, offers three bus tours throughout the County on July 21, 2007
tours highlighting our countys incredible historic legacy and diversity. From the earliest occupation of the land to the present day, the story is fascinating, fun and full of surprises! Plan to enjoy a mini-vacation at home!
Tours will cover the topics of Commerce and Technology, Laurel: A Mill Town, and women who made their mark. Spring and summer 2008, another series of themed tours will be presented.
Transportation provided by The Bus of Prince Georges Co. , commentary by a local historian, admission fees to all sites and delicious boxed lunches from local caterers are included in the fee for each tour.
So escape from the hustle and bustle on Saturday, July 21 and celebrate the rich history of Gorgeous Prince Georges!
