Riversdale House Museum

Flemish aristocrat Henri Stier began construction of this five part, stucco-covered brick manor house in 1801. After his return to Europe, his daughter, Rosalie, and son-in-law, George Calvert, a grandson of the fifth Lord Baltimore, completed the house. Their son, Charles Benedict Calvert, founder of the University of Maryland at College Park, lived here until 1864. The mansion was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1998.
